From his earliest years as a freelance photographer, André Kertész surrounded himself with an artistic milieu that provided inspiration, insight, criticism and connections. Even when he strayed from home base, he made sure to meet other influential artists in his travels.
On a trip to England in 1980, English photography curator Colin Ford took Kertész to Perry Green, in Hertfordshire, the home and studio of Henry Moore. They spent the day together, and Kertész made a record of the visit with a photographs of Moore, as well as his studio, hearkening back to a practice he used while visiting the homes of painters 1920s Paris.
